Counselling is for couples or individuals who are looking for support to deal with a particular issue, situation or problem.
It usually takes between 6 to 12 weeks to reach a goal that was outlined at the beginning of the Counselling.
Psychotherapy deals with the same kinds of issues as Counselling except that it opens them in more depth and complexity. This usually can take longer and offers more ongoing support for deeper integration.
One could say: ”Its more complex, more depth and takes
longer”.
EMDR (Eye-Movement-Desensitisation-and-Reprocessing) is a trauma-specific technique that can be very effective in processing psychological trauma. It is one of the recognized and recommended treatments according to the World Health Organization (WHO).
